Haya (Shyness)- With Special Reference to “Hijab”, Hadith #20- The concept of Al-Haya' (modesty), Riyad us-Saliheen- The Paradise of the Pious. And haya (modesty) is a part of faith.” (Al-Bukhari) Recorded in At-Tirmidhi the Prophet (saw) said: have "Haya" in respect to Allah(swa) in the right sense of Haya. Another hadith links modesty to faith: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Faith consists of more than seventy branches. modesty (haya) we will focus on the summit of good manners, the ornament of faith and the trait of islam according to a hadith by the prophet muhammad (peace be upon him) who said: “every religion has a (distinct) characteristic and the characteristic of islam is modesty.” [ibn maajah] @2017 - Hadith of the Day. He(saw) said It is to control the head with what it perceives, the belly with what it contains and to be mindful of the tomb and decay.
Shy already exists since we were born or it can also as a habit. Haya’ or modesty is a great Islamic concept that leads to goodness and keeps a Muslim away from doing a bad or indecent act when its level is maximized. Another hadith which mentions Haya is : Narrated ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar: The Prophet passed by a man who was admonishing his brother regarding Haya and was saying, “You are very shy, and I am afraid that might harm you.” On that, Allah’s Apostle said, “Leave him, for Haya is (a part) of Faith.” (Sahih Bukhari Book #73, Hadith #139)
